Technical SEO

Technical SEO in Morocco: make your site easy for Google to read

Technical SEO is the optimization that lets Google find, read and index every page of your website that matters, quickly and on a phone. For many Moroccan businesses it is the hidden reason a good website gets little organic traffic. We fix crawling and indexing problems, slow pages, broken redirects, duplicate URLs and language tags, then check in Search Console that Google has picked up each change.

What technical SEO covers

Before a page can rank, Google has to find it, fetch it, understand it and decide to keep it in its index. Technical SEO makes sure each of those steps works. In practice that means:

  • Crawling: a clean robots.txt, an XML sitemap that lists only real pages, internal links that reach everything important.
  • Indexing: no stray noindex tags, correct canonical tags, no duplicate versions of the same page.
  • Speed: pages that load fast on a phone and pass Google's Core Web Vitals.
  • Mobile: Google ranks the mobile version of your site, so that is the version we check first.
  • Structure: readable URLs, redirects that go straight to the right page, language versions linked to each other.
  • Structured data: markup that tells Google what a page is, a business, a service, an article, a FAQ.

Core Web Vitals: the three numbers that matter

Google measures page experience with three metrics. A page passes when at least 75% of visits meet the threshold.

MetricWhat it measuresGood
LCP, Largest Contentful PaintHow long the main content takes to appear2.5 seconds or less
INP, Interaction to Next PaintHow quickly the page reacts to a tap or click200 milliseconds or less
CLS, Cumulative Layout ShiftHow much the page jumps around while loading0.1 or less

What we fix most often on Moroccan sites

  • Language versions not linkedFrench, Arabic and English pages that Google treats as duplicates because hreflang tags are missing.
  • Heavy page buildersPages loading dozens of scripts and style files for a simple layout.
  • Redesigns without redirectsOld addresses that earned visits now return errors after a new site went live.
  • Duplicate pagesFilters, tags and tracking parameters creating thousands of near-identical URLs.
  • Slow hostingA server that takes over a second to answer before anything loads.
  • Phone photos uploaded as they areImages of several megabytes where a few hundred kilobytes would do.
  • Injected spam pagesHacked sites serving pages for products the business has never sold.
  • Blocked resourcesStyle and script files hidden from Google, so it cannot see the page as visitors do.

How a technical project runs

  1. 01

    Crawl and measure

We read every page like a search engine and record speed and indexing as they are today.

  2. 02

    Prioritise

Problems ranked by how many pages they touch and how much traffic those pages carry.

  3. 03

    Fix

We make the changes where we have access, or write them up for your developer with exact instructions.

  4. 04

    Verify

We check in Search Console that Google has crawled the fixed pages and updated its index.

Moving to a new site or domain?

A migration is the moment a site is most likely to lose its rankings, and the moment they are easiest to protect. Before launch we list every address that has ever brought visits, map each one to its new page and test the redirects. After launch we watch Search Console daily until Google has moved everything across.

How we measure technical SEO performance

Every technical fix is checked against Google's own data, not a tool's score. The page indexing report in Search Console shows how many pages Google has indexed and why it leaves others out. The Core Web Vitals report shows real speed on phones, page group by page group. Crawl stats show how often Google visits and how fast your server answers.

We record those numbers before the first change and compare them each month. When a fix works, the excluded pages come back into the index and the organic traffic of the pages concerned follows. When it does not, the report says so and we change the plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is technical SEO?

The part of SEO that deals with the site itself rather than its content: whether Google can crawl and index your pages, how fast they load, how the site is structured and how its language versions are linked.

Do you need access to my site?

It helps. With access to your CMS and Search Console we can make and verify fixes ourselves. Without it, we write each fix precisely enough for your developer to apply it.

Will you work with my developer?

Yes. Many fixes touch the theme or the server, and your developer knows that code best. We give them a clear list and check the result.

Which platforms do you work with?

WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and custom sites. The principles are the same everywhere, only where the settings live changes.

How fast should my site be?

Google's targets are a main content load under 2.5 seconds, a reaction to taps under 200 milliseconds and almost no layout shift. Measure on a phone, not on your office computer.

Can you deal with a hacked site full of spam pages?

We handle the search side: find the injected addresses, make them return a 410 so Google drops them, check Search Console for security issues and request a review if needed. The server cleanup is done with your host or developer.

How long until technical fixes improve rankings?

Google has to crawl the pages again before it sees a fix. On a small website that can take days, on a large one weeks. Indexing problems usually show first in Search Console, then in visibility. Speed improvements reach the Core Web Vitals report after its 28 days of field data.
